SUMMARY:Duffle Bag Bash 2024
DESCRIPTION:Adoption RI\, the Office of the Child Advocate and Lise M. Iwon invite you to join us at Matunuck Community Association for an afternoon of fun\, food\, music\, games and activities for kids & adults and more – all while helping make a difference in the lives of children in RI state care! \nChildren in foster and residential care often move from placement to placement throughout their lives\, keeping and transporting their belongings in trash bags. The Duffle Bag Bash\, now in its 9th year\, is an outdoor event that helps make those moves a little less difficult\, with an admission ‘fee’ of a brand-new rolling duffle bag or suitcase and/or a $25 gift card for adults\, and one brand-new backpack for children. By providing children and teens with their own brand-new duffle bag or suitcase\, they have a safe and dignified place to keep their personal items when changing placements. \nNo child should have to move around with their belongings in nothing but a trash bag. \nThe public and media are invited to this great event. Guests are asked to pre-register at DuffleBagBash2024.eventbrite.com\, though walk-ins are welcomed.
