As one of 4 national AEA localization grantees, Adoption RI was recently asked to participate in a presentation around best practices on localizing AdoptUSKids’ national media campaign to recruit foster and adoptive families in our regions.
Offered by AdoptUSKids, this webinar was one in a series of three one-hour peer-to-peer conference calls, hosted by the National Resource Center for Diligent Recruitment (NRCDR), on the topic of Best Practices for Localizing the National Adoption Recruitment Campaign. Strategies for Local Adoption Campaigns: Successes and Lessons Learned from Localization Grantees was the first event in this series. The purpose of the presentation was to share best practices and lessons learned from AEA Localization Grantees in order to support other AEA members in their work to implement a localized media campaign, regardless of whether or not they have the benefit of additional dedicated funding. This interactive discussion provided information about the AEA Localization Grant materials, as well as the benefits of public/private partnerships that support adoption recruitment campaigns in local communities. As presenters, Donna Rivera and Nicole Searles of Adoption RI, along with Tyler Helbach of the Northwest Adoption Exchange, highlighted successes, challenges, and best practices/lessons learned from completed grant activities, as they relate to others exploring or currently pursuing localization. Recommendations for optimizing localization on an ongoing basis were also offered, as was time for questions and peer to peer discussion.
Adoption RI was honored to be asked to present in this discussion and we look forward to a successful year 3 of the grant!
